The Grammy Awards tend to bring out the crazy, the body-baring, and the tasteless when it comes to fashion. With a strict CBS ban on most body parts this year, however, the red carpet was less than the norm.*
For the first time in eDrop-Off Best/Worst Dressed poll history, our Grammy nominees were a clean sweep. That’s right, we all agreed! What do you think of our picks?
Rihanna in Azzedine Alaia
Rihanna always seems to bring out the big guns for the Grammys. Her looks have been stunning for as long as we can recall. She was by far the most gorgeous, well-dressed woman at the awards last night. Her long hair brings us back to baby Ri-Ri singing Pon de Replay.
Florence Welch in custom Givenchy
We’re big, big fans of Flo’s style. She’s a fashion industry darling! Her gown was the perfect shade of Pantone’s most popular color, and her berry lip is on point for Fall ’13. We surprisingly really enjoyed the dinosaur-like accents on her sleeves – an element that few but Florence could pull off.
Katy Perry in Pucci
Katy just had to push the strict, skin-free dress code. With so much going on at the top of the gown, adding more um, accessories, was an overshare. Major points off for the dead corpse lip, too.
Adele in Valentino Couture
We adore Adele, and we’re excited to see her break out of her usual black, but this dress just doesn’t do much for her. The shape is overwhelming and detracts from her beauty. Never a good thing!

Just in time for Fashion Week, we’ve got a guest editor that knows a thing or two about luxury brands. She worked at Valentino, Chanel and Vogue before landing an incredible position at Tod’s. You’ll love learning more about Sarika Rastogi, and we guarantee you’ll be obsessed with her EDO auction picks.
My name is Sarika Rastogi and I am the PR Director for TOD’s. I came to NYC straight after college and have been here ever since. It will be 13 years here this September, which is nuts, but I could not LOVE NYC more. I am still so energized, obsessed, turned on and in love with this city after all this time. It’s the best boyfriend I could ever find!
I am a firm believer that whatever you put into this city you get back in ACES AND SPADES. I wanted to come and make an exciting life for myself, meet amazing people/friends and work in fashion. NYC has given me that in bounds and riches. I have been lucky to have some great work experience in the fashion business. The people I have met and experiences I have had have been a DREAM.

EDO: What does a typical work day look like for you?
SR: I am lucky as my apt and office are both downtown. I live in the West Village and work in Milk Studios in the MeatPacking District. I am one of the few lucky and spoiled New Yorkers who has an easy 5 minute walk to work every morning. Mornings are always busiest due to the time difference with Milan. Throughout the day it’s a game of multitasking; press requests, product/feature pitching, event concepts, etc. Many times I have a press breakfast or lunch during the day with editors to touch base and go over the latest in the Tod’s world. The late half of the day usually gives me a chance to do more internal work such as team meetings to review strategy, where our coverage is, where we are missing and any other daily tasks.
EDO: Favorite part about working for Tod’s?
SR: Working at Tod’s has been such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. I love working for a family business that is steeped in the rich heritage of craftsmanship and Made in Italy quality. Tod’s is so unique because it’s such a big global luxury brand but there is still an entrepreneurial spirit. You can really be proactive and feel like your contributions and work are making a difference and moving the brand.
EDO: Describe your closet in 3 words.
SR: HIGH-END, LOW-END and NO JEANS (I guess that is four words…)
EDO: Shoes or handbags?
SR: Hmmmm…It’s like picking your favorite child, but I will have to go with SHOES. I change out my shoes ALL the time and love having all kind of shoes. I use to be an ONLY HEELS girl, (the higher the better) but I now have a love for flats – especially when walking to and from work. I think shoes can really change up an ensemble and are always visible and on you! Many times, no matter how chic the bag, it’s left on a table and not even seen!
EDO: When you’re not working you’re…
SR: …taking advantage of this AMAZING city I live in. Most nights I have dinners with friends – both work and personal. Many times there are events/parties. With NYC there is always something to do, something going on, or somewhere to be, and that is what makes NYC so magical.
I love all the restaurants here; high end, low end, all kinds of food, all kinds of people. When its nice out I love walks or being on the WestSide Highway which is right by my apt. I try and take advantage of all that there is to do here-shows, galleries, festivals, food fares, and best of all the PEOPLE. I definitely am more picky now about doing it all, but I still find myself having to pencil in NIGHTS IN!
Can you tell I am NYC obsessed? (We’re a little NYC obsessed, too!)

Here we are in February already! Punxsutawny Phil is predicting an early spring (collective “woohoo!”), but we’re focused on what’s going on right now. Fashion Week is on the horizon, Valentine’s Day beckons, and Chicagoans are busy eating as much as possible. With all that in mind, here’s how to spend the shortest month of the year:
We had to go there with some Ray Charles lyrics in the title.

She’s competed at the US and World Hip Hop Championships and made it to the producer’s round of America’s Best Dance Crew. How much cooler can you get?
